Over Bed Lighting


This is a multi-function area, with general lighting to 100 lux and luminaires to use lamps with a colour rendering capability of Ra80. Reading and general nursing will require around 300 lux, but a night light facility would also be required. Night lighting needs to achieve enough light for safe movement and to allow the nursing staff to check on a patient’s general condition.


Clean Rooms and Laboratories


Protection from the ingress of dust and liquids will often dictate IP rated luminaires that are easy to clean and maintain and 500 lux will be required at the working plane.
