Healthcare Lighting It is widely recognised that good lighting positively influences productivity and wellbeing, two important factors in healthcare. It is important that lighting is considered within the overall design process and should meet the needs of flexible working spaces. When lighting a healthcare environment, the lighting designer has to consider the processes taking place, the risks involved and safety of staff and patients alike.


Lighting Guide LG2 covers lighting for healthcare premises and provides practical ways of lighting the modern hospital environment with illumination recommendations aligned where possible with the Society of Light & Lighting Code for Lighting.


Healthcare environments have to accommodate a range of facilities, each space could have specific lighting requirements to serve various audiences, staff, patients, visitors, technical and maintenance workers.
