Capital Growth Buchalter Forms New Company Capital Growth Buchalter (CGB) recently announced the formation of Capital Growth StoreGuard (StoreGuard), a new affiliated company focused on self-storage. The principal leaders of the new, Atlanta-based company are Mike Vahle and Eric Buchalter. StoreGuard recently closed on its first value-add acquisition in Hinesville, Ga. The existing facility has 39,236 square feet and 358 units, to which StoreGuard will add over 12,000 square feet and 137 new units as well as improved security and operational efficiencies. SecureSpace Self Storage held a grand opening for its newest location, SecureSpace Elmsford in Westchester County, N.Y. SecureSpace Elmsford is a six-story, climate-controlled facility with a modern lobby and state-of-the-art security system.


Argus Self Storage Advisor affiliate Weaver Realty Group announced the sale of


five self-storage development sites in


Florida in the first quarter of 2023. The development sites, which are fully entitled for self-storage with site plan approvals, include a 141,120-gross-rentable-square-foot, 2.76-acre lot in Port Charlotte; a 127,840-gross-rentable-square-foot, 2.78-acre plot in Jackson- ville; a 150,000-gross-rentable-square-foot, 3.38-acre parcel in Fort Myers; a 135,900-gross-rentable-square-foot, 2.08-acre lot in Port St. Lucie; and a 149,846-gross-rentable-square-foot, 3.44-acre plot in Cape Coral.


True Storage has opened its 19th proper- ty. Located in Providence, R.I., day-to-day operations of the 64,831-rentable-square- foot, 800-unit, multistory facility will be managed by CubeSmart.


Moove In Self Storage has purchased 4.16 acres of land in Dover, Pa., with a vacant grocery store that features 39,876 gross square feet of space and two acres of paved parking. Moove In plans to convert the building into a temperature-controlled facility and construct a 58,000-gross-square-foot, two-story building on the excess parking surface in front of the structure. Construction is set to begin in 2023.


PSI Atlantic Framingham MA, LLC, which is an affiliate Tennessee-based Premier Storage Investors, has proposed a 90,000-square-foot storage facility in Framingham. Consisting of two buildings, the project is estimated to cost more than $6 million. Plans indicate the facility will be operated by Extra Space Storage.


LSC Development, LLC, recently


completed the conversion of a former plumbing supply building in Chicago, Ill., into a storage facility. The conver- sion consisted of adding a partial third


story to an existing two-story building. The climate-controlled, 78,698-rentable-square-foot, 916-unit project was designed by SGW Architects and built by Cobalt Commercial Construction. The facility will be managed by Extra Space Storage.


In a $23.5 million deal, Miami-based A+ Mini Storage has sold a 192,966-square-foot facility to an ROVR affiliate. The development firm intends to convert the facility into a 1,000-unit apartment building.
