2022 has been a year like no other, with the political landscape changing on a daily basis. This has had an impact on everyday life, and on policing. We look back and reflect on this year’s highlights and main talking points.
JANUARY Rank-and-file officers were honoured alongside members of the Special Constabulary and police staff in the 2022 Queen’s New Year Honours list for their outstanding contribution to the service.
FEBRUARY

MARCH Metropolitan Police service officer and National Board member Steve Hartshorn became the second person to be elected to the post of National Chair of the Police Federation of England and Wales by the membership. He pledged to continue fighting for improved pay and conditions for all police officers by engaging with MPs across the country and putting forward our case to the Home Secretary and Policing Minister.
