MAIN FEATURE

WHAT WE’RE DEMANDING The Copped Enough campaign calls for urgent action in three key areas:

• Restore Police Pay • Close the 21 per cent pay gap that has left officers struggling.

• Introduce a P-Factor allowance recognising the unique risks of

• Implement a binding, independent pay review system to stop political

policing.

• Stop the Mass Exodus

interference.

• Introduce a retention

of Experienced Officers

package to keep skilled

• Provide proper mental health support, including PTSD screening

and guaranteed recovery time.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO THE PUBLIC This isn’t just a fight for fair pay—it’s a fight for the safety of every community in the country.

“If experienced officers continue “This isn’t just a fight

for fair pay—it’s a fight for the safety of every community in the country.”

• Develop a long-term workforce plan that prioritises retention, not

officers in the job.

• Improve conditions, reduce workloads, and offer a better work-

just recruitment.

• Protect Officers on the Frontline • Ensure mandatory double crewing for high-risk situations.

life balance.

• Strengthen sentences for assaults on officers.

to leave at this rate, crime will rise, response times will worsen, and investigations will fall apart,” said PFEW Acting National Secretary, John Partington.

“Alongside this, the job will continue to break more people. Officers are already beyond their limits and without urgent intervention, policing as we know it may not survive. We are fighting for every officer who is struggling to pay their bills, every officer who has been injured on duty, and every officer who is thinking about leaving because they feel undervalued. This campaign is about making sure policing has a future.”

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

The campaign is already making waves, with public support growing and media attention turning towards the government’s failure to act. Over the coming months, Copped Enough will continue to ramp up pressure through: · National media coverage to expose the reality of police pay and conditions. · Lobbying MPs to demand a binding pay review system and retention package. · Direct action by Federation branches to highlight the scale of the crisis.

JOIN THE FIGHT This isn’t just another campaign—it’s a fight for the future of policing. Officers cannot strike, but thousands are walking away because they have no other choice. If the Government does not act now, policing in the UK will reach a crisis from which it may never recover. This is a turning point. We’ve had enough. The Government must act before it’s too late.
