POLICE REUNION

WEST MIDLANDS POLICE REUNION

Reuniting The West Midlands Police Family

A special reunion for retired and serving police officers, as well as civilian support staff from West Midlands Police, is set to take place at Aston Villa Football Club on Wednesday, 28 May 2025. This follows the success of a smaller-scale event in 2024, which brought together former members of The C Division of Birmingham City Police and West Midlands Police.

The idea for the reunion originated in early 2024 when a retired officer, Dennis Dixon, was asked to organise a gathering for past colleagues from The C Division. With the closure of the police club at Tally Ho in the autumn of 2023, Dixon and a small team secured an alternative venue at Harborne Golf Club. To cover the cost of room hire, attendees were asked to contribute £5 each, and within two weeks, the necessary funds had been raised. By October 2024, over 100 former officers and support staff attended the event, resulting in a surplus of £325, which was donated to the West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund.

Encouraged by the positive

feedback, the organising team recognised that many officers had served in multiple divisions throughout their careers. This realisation led to the expansion of the reunion to include all divisions within West Midlands Police. The upcoming force-wide reunion at Aston Villa Football Club is expected to

be a larger event, with room for up to 250 attendees. As with the previous gathering, a £5 contribution was requested to help cover venue costs, and as of now, 166

bulk order of 76 ties was placed, available in both traditional knotted and clip-on styles for £12 each, with an additional charge for postage and packing. Thanks to deposits

deposits have already been received. In addition to planning the reunion, the organisers responded to a request from an attendee to source ties representing the now-defunct Birmingham City Police. A

and tie sales, the event is already operating at a small profit. As with the previous reunion, any surplus funds will be donated to the West Midlands Police Benevolent Fund, continuing the tradition of supporting former officers and their families.
