Inspirational. Expressive. Uplifting. WORLD-RENOWNED A CAPPELLA GROUP VOCTAVE DID NOT DISAPPOINT
Smiles, laughter and even a few tears emerged as audience members swayed in their seats to the gleeful and pristine voices of Voctave, an 11-member a cappella sensation with professional roots at Walt Disney World. Part of the Arts at Queens Spotlight Series, the Central Florida-based vocal group captivated the crowd at the Sandra Levine Theatre in the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement with stirring and sometimes emotional renditions of familiar songs from the Disney screen and the Broadway stage to pop favorites and jazz standards. The family-friendly performance included a touch of humor and a glimpse into the personal stories of what inspired each member’s musical journey. Producer,
composer and arranger, Jamey Ray, who formed Voctave in 2015, has led the diverse group to multiple number one songs and albums on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. Voctave has also ranked in the top 25 on Billboard magazine’s charts. With roots in musical theater, contemporary Christian music, barbershop, pop and choral music, Voctave has performed all over the world and has had over 150 million views on social media. Their highly anticipated eighth studio album, The Corner of Broadway & Main Street Vol. 2, debuted at number 3 on the iTunes charts.
