Class Beyond the Gazebo


To honor its 50th anniversary back in 1978, the Queens Chi Omega chapter erected a gazebo on the exact spot of the first Chi O house. Relocated several times along the way, the gazebo now stands next to Belk Chapel. Wherever it stood, the story goes like this: if you and


your love share a kiss in the Chi Omega Gazebo, you two will be together always. And from the looks of this picture from a Queens couple, gazebo power applies not only to love and marriage, but also to the baby carriage!

Chrissy Bartholomew ’06 lives in the suburbs of Chicago with Josh, her partner of nine years.


2002 With the help of former classmate Franklin Spence, Jr., Roxanne Reynolds Crawford sold her home in Matthews, North Carolina, back in 2020 to move to Holly Springs, North Carolina. She is enjoying the Raleigh area and her position as project management office director at JF Petroleum Group. Focusing on work-life balance, she is living her best life with husband Scott, daughter Charlie, and 3-year-old corgi Sawyer.

2004 Chris Miller began a job in marketing and communications at Trinity Episcopal School in Charlotte after a nearly 20-year career in radio news. He and his wife also welcomed their second child, William, in March 2021.


2005 In the summer of 2021, Samantha Bart-Addison graduated from the University of West Georgia with a master’s degree in education, specializing in reading instruction and educational leadership. She is finishing her coaching endorsement program as she continues to support teachers for student achievement.


2006 Heather Collings Renfroe MFA ’08 has been taking care of her child and fragile grandparents. She has also become a poll worker and substituted at her daughter’s preschool.


Jennifer Potter has spent the last several years as a foster parent and elementary school librarian. She is most proud of adopting her son Joey in November 2021. She stays in touch with her Queens family via ongoing group messages and by sending each other random gifts. Jennifer hopes you will join her in protecting children and their right to read freely by fighting for foster care and education reforms wherever you are.


Chrissy Bartholomew is living with her partner, Josh, in the suburbs of Chicago. They have been together for nine years.
