HUMAN CONNECTIONS. MEANINGFUL SERVICE.

The Robert C. and Sadie G. Anderson Foundation helped provide funds for the Chapel’s Peace and Reconciliation Trip to Ireland. Over spring break, students visited Dublin, Derry, and Belfast. In addition to sightseeing excursions exploring the culture and history of Ireland, the trip gave students the chance to learn about conflict transformation in Northern Ireland. They talked with locals, visited the Peace Wall that separates Catholic and Protestant neighborhoods and, in turn, developed a broader understanding of individual beliefs and interpersonal relationships.

“I felt inspired enough to come back to the U.S. and work to do my part in creating a positive change in my community even if I don’t have the opportunity to see it take shape. I know that I will be a trailblazer for the generations after me to continue to carry the torch just as the people of Ireland and Northern Ireland have done.”

— Adam Moore ’21, Exercise and Sport Science Major

Belk Chapel programs focus on serving the community, nurturing students, and promoting both religious pluralism and our Presbyterian roots. Students participate in experiential learning to gain insight into their own beliefs while also learning about others.

Welcoming all religious, spiritual and secular worldviews – along with cultivating personal growth – is encouraged and abundant at Queens. The Constance Fraser Gray ’69 Faith and Innovation Fund was established to support future programming that will promote civil discourse, meaningful interactions and mutual respect at the individual, institutional and global levels in an ever- changing world.

“I hope the Innovation Fund at Queens provides the environment where students, faculty and leadership can explore this changing world culture, to provide a better world for next generations of those who want to change the world.”

— Constance “Connie” Fraser Gray ’69
