Regular readers will know of my love of the NFL, and also my inside track on which teams are in the ascendency as my track record over the years has highlighted and this year I can see a new dawn. Obviously my opinions will naturally change after a few weeks on the ultimate prize, but with respect to the Divisions we can be more accurate. Here goes.… AFC EAST

Weak division and the Jets have recruited well, not just in Aaron Rodgers but in a ferocious Defence. AFC NORTH

Straight fight between the Ravens and the Bengals with preference for Baltimore. AFC SOUTH
JACKSONVILLE 5/2
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags to repel a rejuvenated Houston in a weak division. AFC WEST
KANSAS 4/11
Patrick can lead the Chiefs to the Championship game at the very least from Denver. NFC EAST
EAGLES 4/5
Philly too strong for Cowboys and G Men. NFC NORTH
DETROIT 6/5
I’m all over the Lions for Superbowl glory. NFC SOUTH
ATLANTA 5/6
Also rans with Falcons marginally preferred. NFC WEST

The Rams might run them close but San Fran’s rosta to win out. The Accumulator pays over 268/1 but combining the 8 selections in a GOLIATH, with just the 6, 7 and 8 timer is the way forward. A total of 37 bets.
SUPERBOWL
Which brings me nicely on to the Superbowl. I have picked one from each Conference in the hope they meet in New Orleans (the winners of the AFC and NFC
meet in the final), so from the NFC I can see the DETROIT LIONS going one step further than last year where they should really have eased past San Fran.

US OPEN We’re now halfway through the US Open and as usual in the Mens’ Game, the big boys
are
still standing. JANNIK SINNER is a hard court expert and if you can still get 5/2, then take it now as his price will only contract in the next week. The Womens’ is more open, but I feel SABALENKA possesses the all round game to win at around 4/1 – small stakes only.

At a juicy 14/1 with some layers... snap up quick they are a great price. In the AFC, as I alluded to earlier, the second coming of uber QB Aaron Rodgers in New York should lift the JETS to a great run, something their long-suffering fans have looked forward to since Broadway Joe in 1970! But it’s also their ferocious Defence that will keep them winning. At 25/1 they could topple the Ravens and Chiefs.
SUPER LEAGUE With scarcely three rounds left of the regular season, the top two places (and therefore a bye into the semis) are up for grabs with what looks like a straight fight between Wigan, Hull KR and Warrington for the two places. And what a tight affair it looks. With the top two playing each other this week, something has got to give and WARRINGTON could well capitalise at a more than acceptable 9/2. If they can take advantage further and become number 1 seeds, then a pathway to Old Trafford becomes that little bit easier. Take the 9/2 now before this weekend’s clash at Wigan between Hull KR and the Warriors.
