JUBILEE AID PAKISTANI FLOOD VICTIMS
The recent decision by Dudley Council to insist on a compulsory conformation on all public and private hire vehicles in their area has left many strug- gling taxi drivers with a further £100 bill to pay. The safety checks encompass seats, belts and anchorages, and the ensuing inspection leads to drivers receiving a Certificate of Conform- ity in the interests of safety on their vehicle. It must be carried out before the council would re-issue the plate.
Fortunately Jubilee Automotive, which is based in Wednesbury, West Midlands and therefore in the catch- ment area of Dudley Council have volun- teered to conduct the test.
Jubilee were the first company in the coun- try to insist on M1 Type crash testing on alternative taxis in addition to ensuring that all their conver- sions matched M1 Type approval. They were also the first company in the coun- try to achieve M1 Type approval and also the
first to be awarded full European M1 Type approval.
In an act of generosity, Jubilee are passing 100 per cent of the £100 cost of the test to the Pakistani Relief Fund for help in re- structuring the country from the recent exten- sive flood.
So far over £2,000 has been donated.
