CHARITY CORNER… ORGANISERS OFWEST LOTHIAN
CHILDREN’S TAXI OUTING PICK UP CASH BOOST
An annual event for West Lothian chil- dren has been given a cash boost. According to the Daily Record, Eddie Millar, the taxi driver who started the West Lothian Spe- cial Needs Child- ren’s Taxi Outing with his wife, Helen, accepted a cheque for £500 from Mor- risons in Livingston at the football stadi- um on Monday April 15, alongside fellow committee mem- bers Alex Lamont and Margaret Dick- son. Speaking to the Courier, Helen said:
“When you have children with learn- ing difficulties, it can be difficult to take them into certain environments be- cause they can have meltdowns. “This event is for them and their par- ents. They come out for a nice day, and if there is a meltdown, nobody bats an eye - there’s no judge- ment as everyone’s in a similar situa- tion.” The taxi outing - which will take place on May 6 - is now entering its third year, and it will see 40 primary-aged

cause, we often neglect the liver and fail to understand just how important it is. I was shocked to learn that the liver is responsible for 500 different func- tions in the body, it’s a busy little organ. “The work the Trust is doing is amazing and we all have a duty to support one another, so I’m doing my part by taking part in a 160-foot Bungee jump, I hope you do yours by sup- porting me.” Audrey Cornelius, Fundraising Manag- er at Liver Trust, says: “It’s down to the generosity of our supporters that we are able to con-
support and infor- mation to patients and their families. They also campaign for better patient care and treatment. The Trust is there to help
everyone affected by liver dis-
