THE SCOTTISH  IRISH CONNECTION WELCOME TO THE NEW SUPERB

The Taxi Centre was delighted to hand two brand new cars over to the Glover family, namely David and Brian, from New- tonards, Northern Ireland. They took the time to fly over from Belfast to Glasgow Air- port and picked up their cars at The Taxi Centre which is based at Glasgow Airport Business Park, 30 sec- onds away from the front door of the airport. David and Brian Glover are pictured with Gra- ham McCamley, Sales Executive, at the Taxi Centre receiving their keys for a Volkswagen Passat S model auto- matic saloon and a Skoda Superb S model hatchback. This is a great way for cus- tomers in Northern Ireland to collect their cars. The Taxi Centre will pay for your flight to Glasgow, fill your tank up with diesel and pay for the ferry home. This allows the cus- tomer to see a bit of the beautiful Scottish scenery whilst getting to know their cars. The drive to Stranraer or

Cairn Ryan is about one and a half to two hours away taking in the spectacular Ayr- shire coastline.

The original Superb’s design was luxurious and elegant both inside and out, built to appeal to the world’s leaders and royalty. The New Superb takes its sump- tuous design cues from its earliest predecessor and builds on these strengths.

The Skoda design phi- losophy is to produce cars offering the best of both worlds – world class engines, smooth transmissions and high specifications, wrapped in distinctive, elegant and practical bodies.

The New Skoda Superb has the unique ‘Twin- door’ system which is a versatile boot opening mechanism which allows the boot to be opened in two different ways; like a saloon or a hatch.

Benefits of the twindoor system include easy flexible loading – For everyday use the stan- dard saloon opening is likely to be enough. No

need to reach up high and pull the boot lid down, and no risk of scraping it on the multi- story car park roof. However, for increased load sizes and the once a year trip to the tip, the hatch opening is ideal. With the Superb you really do have the best of both worlds. Sec- ondly, in standard hatches, when the boot is opened, the internal temperature changes, making it uncomfort- able for passengers on those hot and cold

days. The car has to work harder,

using

more energy to correct and maintain the tem- perature to the level it was at previously. With ‘Twindoor’, having the functionality of a saloon opening can drastically reduce the energy loss, maintaining cabin tem-

peratures and passen- ger comfort.

The Adaptive Front- Light System is also unique to Skoda. The module lights change the geometry of the light beam according to different driving speeds and circumstances. The AFS headlights

increase visibility and therefore the safety of driver, passengers and other road users. The Superb has an enormous 565 litres of usable space in the boot. That’s enough space to carry 113 watermelons. With the seats down, the Superb offers an astonishing 1,670 litres of space, more than many estate vehicles in this class and the class above. The rear benefits from enormous amounts of legroom, with an addi- tional 19mm of room versus the previous model, even the tallest person can feel com- fortable in the rear of a Superb.
