STREET CARS MANCHESTER TAKEOVER SALE-BASED PRIVATE HIRE FIRM, SCOTTS CARS
StreetCars has expanded its business by taking over Scotts Cars and adding another 200 vehicles to its fleet. The move has made the firm a dominant figure in the industry, catering to the community more easily and efficiently. A statement from the firm about the takeover said: “Street Cars is elated to report we have taken over the well- known and successful local private hire firm Scotts Cars.
“Over the past few years our business has expanded exponentially, driven by the hard work of our staff members, drivers and of course, customers. With this in mind, it is only right that we take the opportunity to thank all the staff, drivers and customers of Scotts Cars. “We were looking for an established company to utilise as a stepping stone in an exciting new foray. It was an extremely tense process trying to find
the right fit. However, Scotts Cars with their dedicated staff and experienced drivers made this easy for us. The respect shown in the countless testi- monials about their service made this easy for us. It is never simple to decide which direction you must face, but it is much easier to decide who will face it with you. We are grateful for the oppor- tunity to assimilate Scotts Cars into the StreetCars family.”
DOUBLE ACQUISITION IN TELFORD AND BARRY DRIVES VEEZU’S GROWTH
Veezu has acquired two private hire businesses as part of its accelerated growth plans. The private hire technol- ogy platform’s acquisitions of Diamond Cars in Telford and A2B Taxis in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan is the latest devel- opment in the business’ continued drive for expansion. The Diamond Cars acquisition sees an additional 270 licensed vehicles in Telford operating with Go Carz, Shrop- shire’s largest private hire and taxi firm, creating a fleet of 650 licensed vehicles in Telford which will operate under the existing Go Carz brand. Passengers will benefit from increased capacity at peak times and will now use the Go Carz mobile app, where cash or card payments are accepted on all bookings. The deal also helps the local driver-partners by reducing the dead- mileage between bookings and creates more opportunities to earn. Linda and Nigel Horler, the founders of Diamond Cars, will oversee the transi- tion to Go Carz and retire after 31 years in the business. Whilst their son Dan, a driving force in the Diamond Cars busi- ness for many years, will join the Go Carz management team. Graham Hoof, Go Carz Regional Direc- tor, said: “We are delighted that

We now have more cars all operating from one system which means passengers in Telford can expect an even better service.” The A2B Taxis acquisition will see Dragon Taxis, South Wales’ largest pri- vate hire and taxi firm, extend its service into the Vale of Glamorgan and provide Dragon Taxis partners with an additional 150 vehicles. Residents and businesses in the Vale of Glamorgan will benefit from increased capacity, plus a greater choice of ways to book and pay for journeys using the Dragon Taxis booking app. The A2B Taxis driver-partners will get access to new technology to improve efficiency and create more opportuni-
ties to earn. They will also have the option to subscribe to a vehicle hire agreement, accident management ser- vice, and a vehicle insurance policy. Jack Price, Dragon Taxis Regional Director, said: “We are delighted to wel- come A2B Taxis’ drivers and their passengers to Dragon Taxis. Not only will the acquisition enhance service levels for residents and businesses across the Vale of Glamorgan, but it will also bridge our coverage between our existing operating areas of Cardiff and Bridgend.” Veezu Group has three other major ser- vice hubs throughout the UK, each operating under established local brands – A2B Radio Cars in the West Midlands, Amber Cars in Leeds and V Cars in the South West.
