LOW COST PAYMENT APP RESOLVE TO LOOK AFTER YOUR FINANCES

Not even 1% per transaction. Next day in bank, simple to use, and a FREE card reader. It's a no brainer.

We all start the new year with good intentions of going to the gym or taking up a new hobby. But there’s one resolution we all can, and definitely should, keep - looking after our finances.

Drivers are taking hundreds of payments a year, but may not have considered that this could be losing them money as well as helping them make it. With a huge range of companies offering payment services, and a minefield of different fees and small prints, checking what you’re being charged for taking payments could be a great way to start the year.

Thousands of taxi drivers have joined Lopay this year in a clear rebellion against the sky-high fees of many big payment firms. But don’t just take our word for it, here’s how one driver on Twitter summed it up: “Not even 1% per transaction. Next day in bank, simple to use, and a FREE card reader. It's a no brainer.”

So with this in mind, here are 4 ways Lopay can help you keep more of your money. Because contrary to popular belief, January shouldn’t be about losing pounds…

1. Get paid on your schedule

It’s your money, so you should be able to access it whenever you need it, not wait a couple of days for it to appear in your bank. With Lopay you can choose to get paid weekly, the next day, or even instantly. So whether you like the routine of weekly payments, or need some extra cash for the weekend, you’re always in full control.

2. Avoid hidden fees

At Lopay we believe in fairer fares. Some providers will make their pricing more complex than passing The Knowledge, baffling you with high fees and extra charges. But we keep it simple - no contracts, no monthly fees, no hidden costs.

You may have come across companies that charge up to 3% for a payment then add an extra 10p, then force you into a contract or charge a monthly fee. This is far too complicated - you take card payments and we’ll charge you 0.79% if you want your money weekly, 0.99% if you want it the next day, and 1.79% if you want it instantly. That’s it.

” 3. Take more tips

Customers sometimes need a little prompting to leave a tip. Lopay’s Smart Tipping function does it for you - display a suggested tip as a percentage or custom amount, depending on which is likely to make the customer more generous!

Drivers have told us they’re getting more tips and love the ease with which customers can just tap a suggested tip, rather than - as one driver put it on Twitter - ‘fumbling around for an exact amount.’

4. Get free transactions

Lopay’s rates are the lowest on the market. But you can go one step further and get £1000 of fee-free transactions if you sign up with the Code PHAT1000. What’s more, spreading the word will save you and your fellow drivers money - refer a friend and you’ll both get £1000 in fee-free transactions.

At 0.79%, Lopay is less than half the price of SumUp and Zettle, and used by thousands of taxi drivers across the UK. This could mean savings of up to £3000 a year, or as one taxi driver we spoke to put it, a holiday or a big lump of his rent.

So with a free app, £1000 of free transactions when you sign up, and no contracts, you’ve no excuse not to stick to that resolution of saving money. As for actually using your gym membership, you’re on your own there…

Search for Lopay on your preferred app store, or visit Lopay.com for more information.
