OWNER THOUGHT HIS TAXI DUMMY WAS DEAD WOMAN
Television presenter Noel Edmonds has revealed that a garage owner once feared the dummy he drives around Bristol in his taxi was a woman who had frozen to death. The Deal of No Deal star, who lives in Bit- ton, told the Daily Mail that the man feared the worst for the man- nequin, called Can- dice, when it fell out of this cab. Noel said: “When we first had her there was a really bad winter. The cab had frozen up and the battery was flat. We got the local garage round to try to get it going. “It was so badly frozen the door was difficult to open, so the guy from the garage even- tually yanked open the
door and Candice fell out. “He almost had a heart attack. He thought someone had frozen to death in the back of the car.” The Bristol Post first reported in 2010 that the TV personality had a mannequin on board the black cab he drives to enable him to use city bus lanes and deter potential pas- sengers from trying to flag it down. He recently gave the mannequin its own online profile on social messaging site Twitter. Her profile describes her as: “Fashionista, bon viveur, entrepre- neur and jet setting glam guru; chic not Bristol/Nice.” Last month the dummy was spotted leaving

fame, Noel, 64, who is married to Liz, 45, said: “We really didn’t expect things would take off like this. We know she’s not real.
The majority of people who follow her on Twit- ter know she’s not real. But she seems to have touched a chord because she’s funny.
“Too many people in public life do take themselves too seri- ously. So many celebrities are so full of themselves and so detached, just look at the fluffy people in Hello! and OK! maga- zines. They use the internet for marketing purposes and to feed their egos. “But none of this was planned. She was a birthday present from Liz to stop people flag- ging me down in the cab, and it’s all snow- balled from there.” Liz, Noel’s third wife, said: “I know its weird. But at least Noel does- n’t dress her, I do. If it’s nice weather,

think: ‘You can’t be going around with a fur hat on.’ So I put her in something cooler.”
