Get with the programme: International Hardware Fair Cologne 2020

WITH the long, grey January behind us, EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair 2020, the world-class international hardware event, is just around the corner.

When the doors open on Sunday 1 March, visitors to the four-day Cologne show will be in for an unforgettable show, delivering an unparalleled look at the heart of the hardware industry, complete with award ceremonies, accolades and special events.

EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne is not just a place to discover industry innovations and cutting- edge technology. In Hall 11.1, for example, 62 companies will be exhibiting products in the DIY Boulevard, an authentic Point- Of-Sale environment where retailers can get advice and information about product presentation to maximise their sales.

Hall 11.1 will also be hosting a full event programme – The EISENforum. Lectures, panels, start-ups from the most exciting industries and the EISEN 2020 award ceremony round off the trade fair programme. Anyone interested in the future of the industry and the latest trends is in the right place.

Sunday, 1 March Sunday is dedicated to the awards and accolades presented by Koelnmesse's partners.

The Partners of PVH Award will take place at 9:30a.m. This will be followed by the EISEN 2020 Innovation Award powered by ZHH (Central Association of the Hardware Trade) for new product developments and enhancements presented at EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne 2020 for the first time. All nominated products and concepts will be presented to the international trade audience on the Mittelbouleveard.

On the first day of the fair, EISEN Party 2020 invites guests to network and enjoy themselves in the new DOCK.ONE location starting at 6:30p.m.

Sunday, 1 March 2020 and Monday, 2 March On the first two days of the fair, the Digital Summit will be held in cooperation with digital expert Michael Atug on the EISENforum stage in Hall 11.1. The lecture programme on the opportunities and risks of e-commerce as well as payment, multichannel and logistics highlights the facets of digitalisation and explicitly aims to

promote the exchange between suppliers, retailers and service providers. On Monday evening at the Rheinterrassen, the BHB Industry Award (previously the Customer Service Prize) will be presented by the Trade Association for Home Improvement, Building and Gardening (BHB) together with RM Handelsmedian.

Tuesday, 3 March Interested buyers, predominantly from the industry, will meet up at the EISENforum during BME Buyers' Day. The gathering hosted by the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) will be about optimising procurement processes. The discussion will include the transformation of purchasing, the application of robotics and artificial intelligence in operational purchasing and the implementation of Industry 4.0.

Wednesday, 4 March The focus on Wednesday will be start-ups. Young, innovative companies will have the chance to present their ideas and forward- looking solutions for the first time. There will also be useful tips and valuable advice from experienced company founders. And following tradition, ZHH is organising the Trainee Day on the last day of the trade fair.
