He describes winning the Yoto Carnegie Medal for illustration as a “great honour” and explains how he wanted his work Saving Sorya: Chang and the Sun Bear “to create an immersive movie on paper that would engage and share with other children about the wild natural world”.

The illustrations created by Jeet allow the reader to feel Trang’s determination as she attempts to save a young sun bear and rehabilitate it. Jeet’s distinctive Manga style combines with a lush backdrop of the Vietnamese scenery that enriches the story, highlighting a passionate environmental message.
