Mapping the workforce: What the data tells us

Data is a key component in making decisions, and without good quality data it can be hard to make changes and track success. Over the last year, CILIP has been working with partners to gather information about the state of the library, archives, records, information and knowledge sector. Rob Green looks at some of the implications of the recently released Workforce Mapping Survey.

Where are we now?

The latest research was commissioned by the UK Information Workforce Data Con- sortium, consisting of CILIP, Archive & Re- cords Association (ARA), Culture and Sport Division of the Welsh Government (MALD), Historic Environment Scotland, Infor- mation & Records Management Society,
