Oishee Das, Ti ffany Liu, Daniel Moon, Asna Tabassum, Anushka Thakker and W i l l iam Zhang from Ayala High School and Janice W u from Chino Hi l ls High School for have been selected as semi final ists in the 65th annual Nat ional Mer i t Scholarship compet i t ion.


Out of 1.6 mi l l ion entrants from 21,000 high schools, these deserving students join an el i te group of approximately 16,000 students in the 99th percent i le of their state?s PSAT scorers. Ini t ial ly selected based on their PSAT/NMSQT per formance, winners of the Nat ional Mer i t Scholarship award are chosen from the Final ist pool , which wi l l be announced February 2020. Students have an oppor tuni ty to compete for an est imated 7,600 Nat ional Mer i t Scholarships wor th more than $31 mi l l ion based on their abi l i t ies, ski l ls, and accompl ishments. Scholarships wi l l help wi th paying for costs associated wi th at tending the col lege of their choice.
