ental Il lness Six-W eek Series for Parents


The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is a no cost, six-week education program for parents and family caregivers of children and teens who are experiencing symptoms of mental illness or who have already been diagnosed. NAMI is offered in a group setting so parents can connect with others face-to-face.


The program is scheduled to begin Thursday, October 3, 2019, and will continue through November 14, 2019 at the District?

Jenny Mott, will cover facts about mental health conditions and current treatments, how to identify early warning signs of mental illness, how best to support children at home, school and within the healthcare setting, strategies for providing care for children during treatment and recovery, and how to advocate for children?


s rights in schools, court, and the public mental health care systems.
