W hen students returned to school last month, they saw the many physical construct ion and renovat ion projects that occur red over the summer. Through our Measure G modernizat ion bonds, Chino High School is spor t ing brand new, relocated basebal l and softbal l fields, al lowing for classroom construct ion for the new CHS project . Al l five high schools have secur i ty cameras instal led and operat ional , and staff at many campuses wi l l be ut i l izing keyless entry for added secur i ty. Students at Ayala High school wi l l not ice tal l ,


steel beams forming the skeleton of their soon-to-be science bui lding, and wi l l now stay cool in their gymnasium wi th the recent instal lat ion of extensive HVAC systems. Students at three elementary schools are now learning in newly


modernized classrooms, wi th furni ture and features sui table to an except ional 21st century educat ion. St i l l other elementary school students are learning in temporary por table classrooms, as their bui ldings are renovated for modernizat ion. Yet wi th al l of these physical changes, one thing remains the same: our dedicat ion to and focus on our students. I t is because of our commi tment to providing a r igorous, relevant , 21st century educat ion for our students that we cont inue to integrate real wor ld appl icat ion and technology through both tradi t ional and pathway courses. For the 5th year in a row, our School Distr ict wi l l provide free PSAT and SAT exams and exam preparat ion for our high school students. CVUSD teachers and administrators cont inue to work throughout the year to bet ter themselves in order to inspire our youth and encourage posi t ive impacts in their l ives. Our purpose includes nur tur ing our youths? mental and emot ional wel l -being, as evidenced by the recogni t ion of most of our schools in the area of posi t ive behavior intervent ion systems.


W i th so many posi t ive foundat ions al ready in place to guide us, i t?s an exci t ing t ime for change. I look forward to us working together this year on a journey of personal and col lect ive improvement for ourselves, our communi ty and most impor tant ly, our students.
