Ceremonies in Parks, Gardens and Woodlands
The Sheffield Botanical Gardens Sheffield Botanical Gardens first opened in 1836 and contains beautiful landscaped grounds with winding paths and scattered plantings among tree planted mounds. The site contains the largest collection of listed buildings in a Sheffield garden.
The Gardens are well known for their beautifully restored grade II listed Glass Pavilions which house plantings from the warm temperate areas of the world, such as Australia, South Africa and the Mediterranean.
The gardens offer a haven of peace and tranquillity with 13 different garden areas to explore and enjoy including The Rose, Prairie, Evolution, Rock and Water and Asia.
The stunning glass pavilions are 90 metres long and contain thousands of panes of hand blown glass. The pavilions have been restored to exacting standards with high quality materials. They have stood through terrible hail storms, World Wars and dereliction. They have housed talking birds, fish and have been visited by royalty.
The Botanical Gardens are a magical place to have a ceremony; ceremonies take place within the Central Pavilion to the side of the fountain. You will be surrounded by an amazing range of Australian plants including Acacias and Bottlebrushes.
You can invite up to 80 guests, who will gather around the fountain to watch you take your vows. The backdrop of the pavilions and the beautifully kept gardens create an excellent backdrop for your photographs.
The gardens are located off Clarkhouse Road to the south west of the city.
