36 • RAVE January - April 2026
Every April, we celebrate the Fair Housing Act, a pivotal policy which made discrimination in housing transactions unlawful. The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, and familial status. Fair Housing Month reminds us that fair housing is not only state and national law, but a fundamental right for all people.
If you would like to learn more about the Fair Housing Act or if you feel you have been discriminated against, please contact the Fair Housing Liaison for more information or for referral information by calling the Neighborhood and Family Services Department at (623) 333-2706.
