“PROPERTY ALL-STAR CURB APPEAL AWARD” RECIPIENTS
Introducing the first winners of City of Avondale's Property All-Star Curb Appeal Award, a new quarterly recognition program developed by the Avondale Code Compliance Division to honor property owners who exemplify exceptional maintenance and community pride. These awards are part of a larger initiative to promote pride in property ownership and to encourage beautification throughout Avondale.
During a recent City Council meeting, the City formally recognized homeowners of two properties that set a high standard for curb appeal and neighborhood pride:

NEIGHBORHOOD TOOL LOAN PROGRAM
Merced and Sally Chayrez, lifelong residents of Historic Avondale, were honored for maintaining their home for more than 52 years. Their daughter nominated them, noting that locals affectionately refer to Mr. Chayrez as “the man with the beautiful corner lot.” The Chayrez family’s dedication and longstanding commitment to their neighborhood make them a true pillar of the community.
This program fosters neighborhood pride and support to community groups wishing to conduct
neighborhood clean-up projects or days of service.
THE AVONDALE TOOL BOX - NEIGHBORHOOD TOOL LOAN PROGRAM IS OFFERED AS A FREE SERVICE AVAILABLE FOR:
Jesus Perez, a resident of the Alamar neighborhood, was also recognized following a community nomination praising his home's meticulous upkeep and impressive landscaping. “Their home is always beautifully maintained, and they take great pride in their landscaping and curb appeal. They truly help make our community look welcoming and well cared for,” the nominator shared.
“This program celebrates the residents who quietly make a big impact by caring for their homes and enhancing the beauty of our City,” said Joshua Perez, Code Compliance Manager. “We’re grateful to honor their hard work and dedication.”

residential or
commercial properties at

emailcodecompliance@avondaleaz.gov. Submissions should include the property address, photos, and a brief statement about what makes the property exceptional.
