Avondale is at the Center of It All – and at the center of Avondale is The BLVD! Formerly known as City Center, The BLVD is a multi-use, pedestrian-oriented entertainment district that was first approved in 2007. Officially branded as The BLVD in 2018, the area has grown significantly, to include four hotels, four multifamily housing developments, and over 23 retail and restaurant establishments with more still to come.


The City has added amenities such as a parking garage, lake and water features, monument signs, public art, a splash pad, walking trails, and has even built competition- grade sand volleyball courts behind the Randall McDaniel Sports Complex, home to the American Sports Centers – Avondale (ASC). ASC draws over a half million visitors annually for youth and adult basketball, soccer and volleyball leagues, camps, clinics and tournaments.


The BLVD is also home to exciting businesses such as Aveda Institute of Avondale, Phoenix Children's Sports Physical Therapy, Ivory House, Tap2, Dutch Bros, Culvers, Starbucks, and everyone’s favorite meeting spot, New Penny Café.
