LEADERSHIP UPDATE TAPA STANDARDS
BUILDING THE TAPA BRAND WITH EMEA REGION STAKEHOLDERS
Thorsten Neumann, President & CEO of TAPA for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region, shares the latest update on some of his and the Association’s latest activities aimed at accelerating TAPA EMEA’s growth, development and influence, and delivering more benefits to our growing membership…
NEVER BE AFRAID TO REACH OUT TO THE TAPA FAMILY
In this issue we share a story about Freightsafe’s modular parking bay for trailers and how this might have the potential to provide secure parking installations at existing parking sites.
It’s an interesting concept and I know founder Charlie Anderson is hoping for more feedback from TAPA members as they continue to develop their proof of concept. What I liked most about the information Charlie provided, however, was his request to use Vigilant as an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to TAPA members who have already acted as mentors or given their time to learn more about the Freightsafe solution and offer the benefit of their knowledge and experience.
These include:
• Carlo Giannini of Sony Europe • Dr Jan Phillip-Weers and his team at Bosch Secure Truck Parking
• Rein De Vries at Samsung SDS Europe • British American Tobacco • Karin Bingenheimer at Willis Towers Watson • Patrick Freitag at LOG-IN CZ • Akos Sandor at Waberer’s International
I am not only very happy to pass on this message, I want to add my own thanks too. We talk a lot about the value of being part of the TAPA Family. This is one of the best examples.
FUTURE TRAINING –
HAVE YOUR SAY The provision of TAPA training courses for our FSR and TSR Standards has been one of our big success stories of the past year. Driven by the need to replace face-to- face courses with an online solution after Covid-19 prevented travel and group meetings, we have seen very strong demand for more accessible training support.
We have already learned a lot and, of course, we know that technology and remote learning will be needed to underpin our growing Standards certifications programmes. I also strongly believe this is the best way to support our members.
TURNING ON THE TAPS
We are busy working behind the scenes on solutions we can now make available to companies through our new commercial arm, TAPS – Transported Asset Protection Services. One of our first offerings will be TAPA Driving Training linked to TAPA’s Trucking Security Requirements certifications. We’ll tell you more next month…
But, as always, it’s your views that really count – and we want to hear them. On 11 March, Markus Prinz will host a special TAPA EMEA webinar entitled ‘The future of TAPA EMEA Training’ and we want your input and ideas. The presentation is from 10.00-11.00 CET and you should have received an invitation to register. Help us to help you by getting involved.
