Fee status

Living expenses
The cost of living in Bristol varies as much as student lifestyles. You will need to think about accommodation, food, books, entertainment and other costs. For a breakdown of estimated living expenses visit

Support with living expenses If you are a full-time UK student, you may be eligible for a maintenance loan towards your living expenses in addition to your tuition fee loan. The loan amount will depend on your household income and will only become repayable once you have graduated and are earning a pre-tax salary above the repayment threshold. Additional support is available for disabled students and those with childcare costs or adult dependants. Please contact your funding authority for more information.
International student funding In order to secure a visa to study in the UK, international students need to show they have sufficient funds to cover their first-year tuition fees and living expenses.

US loans
For eligible US students, the University is authorised to certify federal student loans (subsidised, unsubsidised and PLUS loans) and private loans. Further details on US loans and how to apply are available at
