condensate. The lower the final energy content in the condensate, the lower the steam consumption of the application, the lower the operating costs.
Use of residual heat through steam expansion or transfer to low- temperature processes
The use of flash steam is a common way to make steam usable at different pressure stages without consuming additional live steam. To this end, MIYAWAKI designs and supplies all the necessary components, including preliminary investigations and project planning services for plant integration.
Coupling of heating and cooling systems
Replacement or repair of steam traps Steam traps are an essential component in steam systems. If not continuously tested, a single defective or incorrectly selected steam trap can mean annual losses of several €10,000. This is accompanied by a high level of avoidable CO2
emissions. MIYAWAKI
recommends a six-monthly test term, using a specialized testing system, such as the MIYAWAKI DR. TRAP.
Depending on the size and value of the steam trap, it is recommended to replace or repair the valve.
errors in the selection of the components used or in their positioning in the steam network are also typical. These can influence the productivity of the plants, for example due to insufficient steam quality.
Replacement of incorrectly designed valves and components
In addition to the pressure stages of the steam network, design errors or changing process parameters can lead to faulty selected valves. A good example is the selection of steam traps. For example, traps should be selected according to the area of application and work behavior. MIYAWAKI takes the approach of selecting the right technology for the application and does not favor one functional principle.
In case of doubt, an incorrect selection of a steam trap can lead to very high sums of additional operating costs. For example, the wrong selection of a trap for heat tracing results in different degrees of heat utilization in steam and resulting
Depending on the process and working regime, residual heat from condensate and cooling water requirements can be coupled with each other. Such couplings require a detailed recording of the working regimes and process parameters. Based on this data, MIYAWAKI develops concepts that reduce the use of primary energy and at the same time ensure security of supply.
Conversion from steam to other heat transfer fluids
In practice, steam is often used for applications that are only suitable to a limited extent. Temperature control below 100 °C or room air heating can be easily implemented by hot water systems. Such systems can be quickly and easily connected to a steam network, helping to reduce the need for live steam and make the system more efficient overall.

Re-structuring of pressure stages Steam networks are fed by one or more boilers. The main lines should contain overheated steam and be excessive in pressure related to the process demands.
For the process supplies, the necessary pressure must be generated via pressure reduction stations or steam conditioning stations. The requirements for these supplies can change over the years and systems may have not been adapted. Designing
