Four Main Criteria For Entering The World Of Waterjet Cutting
Since its foundation in 1971, KMT Waterjet’s credo has been to continually push the boundaries of waterjet cutting and drive forward innovative developments.
And so it is for good reason that KMT Waterjet has established itself on the market as the first point of contact for the following issues in the field of waterjet cutting:
1. reliability of high-pressure pump technology
The heart of every waterjet cutting system is first and foremost the high-pressure pump. It determines the success of an installation. KMT Waterjet’s high-pressure pump portfolio covers the entire range, both for occasional cutting and for multi-shift operation. The latter requirement in particular places the highest demands on machine running time. Durable wear components with a long service life are essential here.
Even cutting at 6,200 bar / 90,000 PSI (today’s standard is 4,000 bar / 60,000 PSI) increases the production capacity of a waterjet cutting system by up to 50%, saves considerable amounts of abrasive sand and makes no compromises in terms of reliability.
2. selection of the right customized waterjet cutting system The available system solutions are just as diverse as the applications in waterjet cutting. KMT maintains a network of over 180 system manufacturers worldwide who specialize in the development and manufacture of waterjet cutting systems.
3. longevity and quality of spare parts Decades of experience in dealing with the highest operating pressures have enabled the engineers at KMT Waterjet to continuously optimize the service life of wear components and set real standards in the industry in this respect. The customer benefits from KMT’s self-proclaimed claim to always exceed the industry’s standards.

4. availability of qualified service staff KMT Waterjet is represented throughout Europe by 6 sales and service offices with two more in the whole of the EMEAI territory. Each of these offices has an appropriate number of service engineers who support customer in his local language in the most cases. If on-site support is required, experienced service staff ensures the fastest possible maintenance.
Ultimately, all the points listed contribute to ensuring that a waterjet cutting system performs its profitably and cost-effectively day in, day out over its entire lifecycle.
High-Pressure Pascalization (HPP) HPP has emerged as a critical technology in the food industry for ensuring food safety and extending shelf life. HPP involves subjecting food products to extremely high pressures, typically between 6.000 bar / 87,000 PSI and 6.900 bar / 100,000 PSI, effectively eliminating harmful bacteria such as Listeria, Salmonella, and E. coli while preserving the nutritional integrity and flavor of the food. This non-thermal processing technique has gained popularity in various food sectors, including the production of guacamole, meats, meals, salsa, premium juices, and smoothies, where

maintaining freshness and safety are paramount.
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) Even the low-density polyethylene pellets (LDPE) industry has benefitted from the use of waterjet technology. Since 1946, KMT’s McCartney Products (Baxter Springs KS USA) has been the global innovator in the manufacturing of high quality, ultra-precision phase flow pumps and parts for production in large LDPE processing facilities.
