PODCAST BROUGHT MANY TO THE MIC


In spring of 2020, residents—many stuck social distancing in their apartments—and staff of Charlotte, N.C.’s Evergreen Woods community got an interesting invitation: Be part of a podcast.


The response from those who wanted to share was overwhelming. Katzias sterilized and toted around a special microphone and digital audio workstation to record and later edit files. A year later, there were 65 episodes available, ranging from 4 to 42 minutes long—and many residents who were entertained and learned about each other. More benefits to the podcast: Staff learned more about residents, and resident stories and performances were captured to be listened to at leisure.
