For the second straight year, The Hill news- paper named James Balda, Argentum pres- ident and chief executive officer (CEO), to its 2022 Top Lobbyist list. The publication said its “list honors the corporate lobbyists, hired guns, association leaders and grass- roots activists who leveraged their expertise and connections to make a difference in the nation’s capital this year.” Balda said he was honored for the recognition, pointing to the work of the Public Affairs team and association members for urging lawmakers and those in the administration to consider the priorities for senior living communities impacted from the deep financial strains brought on by the pandemic.
Rendever announced its acquisition of Al- cove, a popular consumer virtual reality (VR) platform publicly available to families at home through their own VR headsets. The Rendever team has been co-developing Alcove with AARP since 2020.
Lument said it closed a $31.6 million Fred- die Mac loan to refinance Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge, a 160-unit seniors hous- ing community in Westminster, Colorado. The Freddie Mac loan features a 10-year term, five years of interest-only payments, 30-year amortization, and a low fixed-inter- est rate. The loan refinanced two existing Freddie Mac loans totaling $28.2 million and provided almost $3 million in cash- out proceeds. Lument has a longstanding relationship with Keystone that dates back more than 10 years and includes acquisition bridge, construction financing, mezzanine financing, and many FHA-insured loans. This was Lument’s first agency loan for the company. Built in 2011, 15 miles north of Denver, Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge features independent and assisted living units.
LCB Senior Living has announced the acqui- sition of the Traditions of Dedham senior living community in Dedham, Mass., as well as the Traditions of Wayland senior living community, formerly the historic Paine Es- tate, in Wayland. Mass.
Owner/developers FilBen Group and RSF Partners, general contractor McAlpine Contract- ing, and designer H2M Architects + Engineers broke ground for Braemar at Montebello, a new 200-resident, 133,675-square foot, four-level luxury assisted living residence located on 6.2 Lower Hudson Valley acres at 250 Lafayette Avenue in Montebello, N.Y. The property is close to Harriman State Park in Rockland County. The Braemar property neighbors the Good Samaritan Hospital – Suffern in Montebello, a part of Bon Secours Charity Health System, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.
