Tesco Bags of Help Grant value: Up to £2,000 Next deadline: Ongoing. New projects are featured in store every three months Details: Local good causes, including schools, can apply to be recipients of funding from Tesco. Previously voted for in-store using blue tokens, the scheme has been temporarily changed due to COVID-19, so that three causes in each area receive an equal share of the quarterly funding pot. Projects should benefi t the local community, and can include everything from improving buildings and developing outdoor spaces to running community events or seasonal activities. The Football Foundation is the charity of the Premier League, The Football Association and the government, offering grants to improve grassroots football facilities. Applications can be for projects ranging from replacement goalposts, new fencing or improved drainage, to the creation or refurbishment of artificial or natural grass pitches. The foundation’s Opportunities Through Sport grant programme is available for projects providing opportunities for people who are disabled or otherwise disadvantaged to fulfil their potential. Funding is usually only available for capital projects, such as the installation of sports equipment or the construction of sports pitches and other sports facilities. Schools can obtain a grant for the development of youth hockey, enabling them to purchase starter kits, playing equipment and junior goalkeeping kit. Schools can obtain a grant that will allow a group of disadvantaged young people to build on an existing interest in the great outdoors.
