ELEKTEC MEETS THE PRINCE OF WALES


Darwen-based electrical contractor Elektec was invited to Morecambe Community Fire Station to meet the Prince of Wales.


Company founder Carl Knowles benefitted from a £1,500 business grant from The Prince’s Trust in 2009 which played an early part in him creating his company which now employs 15 and has won various awards.


Today, Elektec supports the charity by offering work experience opportunities to young people aged 16 to 25.


Carl said: “Meeting Prince Charles was such a proud day for us. The Prince’s Trust gave me the help and support I needed to become self-employed. Now that our business is established, it’s great to be able to support and give back.”
