EXPO LOOKS NORTH
SUMMER IS IN THE PINK
In the idyllic setting of Farington Lodge Hotel, Pink Link welcomed more than 100 female entrepreneurs to their Summer Regional North West event for a proactive day of networking, sharing knowledge and exploring opportunities.
The event brought together women from a wide range of industries from across the North West and business was booming as more than 20 exhibitors showcased their products and services.
Two masterclasses by the Intellectual Property Office and Del Parsons Coaching were well attended and guests came away with advice and ideas that they could implement in their business.
There were tears and laughter as guest speaker Delight Mapasure shared her story. An asylum seeker from Zimbabwe, she saw how English people love sausages and ran with an idea to introduce her beloved Boerwurst to the nation.
Her persistence caught the attention of Costco and through her drive and determination she created a six-figure success story and won over a legion of fans who can’t get enough of her South African fare.
Fellow guest speaker Sam White of Freedom Services started her first business at 24 from her sister’s conservatory.
She shared her vision for a better working environment and explained how after replacing herself as CEO with a psychologist, profitability has increased by 400 per cent and this year she is expecting a turnover of £23m.
This bold move has given her more opportunities to explore new opportunities and spend more time creating a sustainable and creative business model both in the UK and Australia.
The North Lancs Expo is set to return after a two-year break with more than 2,600 attendees expected to network, hear from guest speakers and learn more about everything the area has to offer.
The event will take place on Friday September 30 at Lancaster and Morecambe College and returns to the business calendar in time for its organisers, the Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce, to celebrate 125 years of supporting businesses in the region.
And there are still a few last places remaining for exhibitors.
Those who book stand space benefit from an undercover professional exhibition area with room for equipment and displays where you will have the opportunity to meet influential business leaders and grow your network.
All exhibitors are entered into a Best Stand Award competition,
and you will be invited to the exhibitor-only breakfast networking session and the post- Expo after party with prosecco and chips.
The North Lancashire Business Expo is organised by Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Lancaster City Council and Lancaster and Morecambe College.
Lancashire Business View will once again be supporting the event as media partner. Commercial director Stephen Bolton said: “We believe that building relationships is the best way to do business. We have worked alongside the chamber for a number of years and that’s why we’re delighted not only to see the return of this event but to be able to support it in an official capacity once more.”
