electechinnovationcluster.co.uk Who we are
The Electech Innovation Cluster is a membership focused cluster organisation that supports the growth of electronic technology businesses in the North Lancashire and South Lakes region. The cluster came together after a number of the founding members all discovered they faced the same challenges of skills development talent attraction for future electech technicians.
What we’ve achieved
The Electech Innovation Cluster is fast approaching 30 members alongside another 30 Associate Members. In 2023 we were awarded funding from Lancaster City Council through UKSPF to help develop the region’s position as one of the UK’s leading innovation clusters. The cluster aims to continue building its membership and supporting economic growth in the region.
Why we love the area
Lancaster and Morecambe is the administrative centre of the Electech Innovation Cluster and a wonderful place to do business. The region has an established base of electronics businesses and strong links with all four Lancashire based universities. The cluster has played a vital role in developing Tech Lancaster, a bootcamp for electronic skills development alongside working with the region’s excellent further education colleges.
Who we are
HPA is a RIBA Chartered Architecture practice, integrating a holistic multidisciplinary approach to architecture. We work nationally, aspiring to use our varied work to champion the importance of creating a positive legacy, whilst supporting local communities. Our services include sustainable building design, planning, conservation and heritage consultancy and Passivhaus Design.
What we’ve achieved
We have three hotels featured in the Times’ Top 50 Boutique Hotels in the last year. A long-standing expertise in the design and delivery of specialist manufacturing buildings and dedicated commercial spaces. Recently launched our sister company, Woohoo which focuses on improving sustainability and heritage building retrofitting, enhancing and upgrading the county’s historic buildings.
Why we love the area
Through strong connections with various Lancaster organisations, groups and charities, HPA continues to play a key part in the city’s enhancement. We’re dedicated to retro-fitting the historic commercial spaces in the city to make these buildings efficient to run, fit for purpose and to ensure their long-term future. Our collaboration with the Lancaster High Street Heritage Action Zone team focuses on revitalising heritage buildings within the historic city centre, strengthening connections to local history and contributing to the revival of Lancaster’s central retail and leisure area.
