Renovations are made possible by the generous donors who have contributed to the Welsh Mountain Home Centuries Campaign, which launched in January 2021 with a $2 million goal. “Te campaign goal also includes the seed money needed for expansion above the current dining room. Te new rooms created there will keep Welsh Mountain Home strong and vital for the next century,” Mona said. “In mid-April, thanks to many generous donors, contributions surpassed $1 million dollars! Welsh Mountain Home was also awarded ARPA grant dollars from the county commissioners and CDBG dollars from the Redevelopment Housing Authority. We are blessed that we will not need to take out a loan for the renovations!”
“Both parts of the Centuries Campaign – the renovation and the expansion – are critical for the long-term stability of Welsh Mountain Home,” she continued. “The renovations, so that we can continue to provide a safe, comfortable home, and the expansion to help subsidize the lost revenue of removing six living spaces to make room for the additional bathrooms.”
Te entire endeavor is designed to promote better infection prevention, to affirm the dignity of residents and to reinforce the shared sentiment that Welsh Mountain Home is indeed a home to those who live there. Welsh Mountain Home will always be a place where we foster that deep sense of community, security, and joy that ultimately makes a house a home.
