said, “Te demolition contractors will remove anything that needs to come out – walls, doors, bathroom fixtures… I’m involved with the architect to make necessary changes to incorporate what’s there that can’t be removed or what needs to be removed that wasn’t anticipated.”


Te addition of bathrooms will allow residents to have the privacy and dignity they deserve. Rather than a 5:1 resident to bathroom ratio, residents will now share their restrooms with only one other person – at the most! Tis means that rather than transporting their toiletries to and from the bathroom in a caddy, they’ll be able to leave their belongings there. “It’ll create an air of permanence,” Linford said. “It’s all about creating a more home-like setting for the residents.”


Long-anticipated renovations are underway at Welsh Mountain Home!


Although bathrooms are at the top of the priority list, the construction will involve much more. “Not only do we plan to create an additional 21 bathrooms, we plan to give Welsh Mountain Home an interior facelift,” Mona said. “Te reupholstering of our furniture has begun and paint colors, flooring, hand rails and door knobs have all been selected. We can’t wait to see the finished product!”


THE CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE HAS ALSO BEEN SET.


■ Phase 1a will run from May through July 2023 and includes room/bathroom renovation, laundry renovations and the creation of an exercise space.


■ Phase 1b will run from August to October 2023 and includes room/bathroom renovations and an update to the hair salon area.


■ Phase 2a and 2b will occur November 2023 through January 2024 and will focus on room/bathroom renovations.


■ Phase 3a, 3b, and 3c will span from February until June 2024 and will include many room/bathroom renovations and the creation of a private telephone lounge.
