ith dozens of attractions near Steeple View Lofts, several options for transportation, and wonderful neighbors
and friends, the decision to go car-free was an easy one for Nancy Youst.
Nancy has lived in Lancaster for more than five years. “I picked Steeple View Lofts primarily for the location,” she shared. “I very much enjoy urban living, so a small, walkable city was perfect.”
Originally from metropolitan New York, Nancy has degrees in counseling and education from Penn State. Her experience living in cities helped inform her decision to forgo owning a car. In May 2023, when her vehicle stopped working, she decided not to replace it and, instead, rely on public transportation, such as buses and trains.
“I love the fact that I can walk to so many venues,” Nancy said. “We’re next door to an independent theatre, coffee shops, and restaurants. I picked a doctor and dentist within walking distance. It’s even more convenient to live here than I was hoping.”
In addition to walking, Nancy makes good use of the city’s public transportation. For example, she
