Cultivating Inspiration is a wonderful theme for this issue of FLOURISH. Fifteen years ago, the Landis Homes Board created Landis Communities with this mission:
Following God’s call to creatively serve the diverse needs and interests of older adults by developing opportunities and collaborative relationships.
W
e are grateful for God’s faithfulness through the years as we affiliated with Welsh Mountain Home, formed Landis Home and Community Based
Services to include Landis Adult Day Services and Landis at Home, and established Landis Quality Living to create additional opportunities for older adults to live in community at Steeple View Lofts, Mountain View Terrace, Landis Place on King and, as you can read about in this issue, Cornerstone at 6th & Chestnut in Reading, PA (p. 18).
I personally feel inspired by each step we have taken together over the past 15 years and have been encouraged by the stories of residents, clients and team members – many of them shared in the pages of FLOURISH. In this issue, we feature the inspiring art of Chris Tirocke, a resident of Steeple View Lofts (p. 4) as well as the new Life Stories initiative at Welsh Mountain Home (p. 6).
As we begin 2026, we are excited to welcome residents to the new Gardens neighborhood at Landis Homes and we look forward to the opening of the Meadows, where Steve and Elaine Sweeley (p.16) will make their new home, and, undoubtedly, many wonderful memories.
Tanks to each resident, client, team member and volunteer who has been part of shaping and living out the mission of Landis Communities. If you have any stories of inspiration you would like to share, please reach out to me!
