New training academy aims to ‘demystify drainage’ in the insurance claims industry
Drainage specialist Catalyst Services UK has marked its 10th anniversary by hosting a training day designed to demystify underground services for insurance claims professionals.
The company held the event at Oldham Athletic football ground in Greater Manchester so senior managers and their claims teams could see specialist technologies being demonstrated first hand.
The company used the event launch its new Catalyst Training Academy, which offers the insurance and property management industries bespoke courses on underground assets, including drainage systems.
Outcomes for insurance professionals include better understanding of drainage terminology, investigation techniques, drainage responsibilities, and drain repair techniques.
Since it was founded in 2014, Catalyst has grown into a market leading provider of specialist investigation, repair, and

renewal services for the insurance and property management sectors.
Key services include: drainage and off- mains drainage investigation, repairs and rehabilitation; leak detection; water supply pipe repair; and subsidence investigation and remediation.
The company operates a managed network of contractors, seeking to work with the best companies in each service sector.

The Catalyst Training Academy now offers tailored training programmes to help industry professionals understand the intricacies of below ground services, ultimately leading to better claims outcomes and improved customer satisfaction.
The training day brought together insurers and loss adjusters with Catalyst colleagues to observe five live demonstrations of below ground services, with an additional presentation detailing a sixth.
Attendees gained valuable insights into drainage systems, off-mains drainage, water supply investigations, pipe moling and subsidence investigations, as well as innovative repair techniques.
