Chris Gibson recently took up the newly created position of Head of EMEA Real Estate at retail brand giant, VF Corporation. We spoke to him at the company’s new offices and showroom in London’s Soho.

ome brands just go on being good. If you were part of the skateboard-crazed generation who spent hours in the eighties or nineties perfecting kickflips, fakies and railslides, you’ll be familiar with Vans trainers – the footwear of choice for many boarders.
Fast forward four decades and the brand is still held in high regard by a whole new generation of trainer lovers. It became part of the American outdoor, workwear and athleisurewear brand stable, VF Corporation, in 2004, and is now on a roster which also includes the likes of Timberland, Napapijri, Kodiak, and The North Face. VF – whose origins can be traced to a Pennsylvanian workwear company founded as far back as 1899 – may not be a household name for European consumers, but its brands most certainly are.
