CLINICAL RESOURCES NEW! The Dysphagia Game

The Dysphagia Game is an educational board game designed to help frontline staff, students, and allied health professionals recognize and manage dysphagia more effectively. Use The Dysphagia Game as a fun and educational format for helping staff and students learn about:

• Prevalence, causes, and impact of dysphagia • Recognizing dysphagia • Reducing risks and improving management of dysphagia • IDDSI framework

The Dysphagia Game can be played as an informal activity in any setting, or as part of more structured training and workshops. Included with the game is a set of 65 questions and picture cards covering general information about dysphagia and about

the IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) framework. The game encourages players to discuss questions and participate in hands-on activities, allowing them to acquire new knowledge, share experiences, and learn from each other. This interaction is what makes the game effective and helps players to learn. The game is designed for 2-12 players, lasting about 45-60 minutes.
