The Giving Farm at Westminster High School

Earlier this summer the CAI-OC Community Outreach Committee volunteered at The Giving Farm, a farm-to-food bank program that works to promote student and community engagement in the California


agricultural industry. The program produces and delivers over 200,000 pounds of produce annually to the OC Food Bank, which provides healthy, fresh, and local options to the low-income communities. Located on several acres at Westminster High School, students and volunteers are provided with the unique opportunity to learn about urban agriculture and the connection to local food networks. There are a wide variety of jobs on the farm. Harvesting fresh strawberries was the committee’s activity on that day. It’s hard work but It’s also a lot of fun!


Looking for a way to serve your community in an abundant way? There are many opportunities to volunteer at The Giving Farm!
