Orange County Rescue Mission Village of Hope

In addition to the Community Outreach Committee’s quarterly outreach events that are open to all Chapter members, Committee members get together for other volunteer opportunities throughout our communities as well. In early August, the team got together to volunteer at the Orange County Rescue Mission Village of Hope. They had the wonderful opportunity of serving lunch to over 200 men, women, and children that the Rescue Mission is currently housing.
OC Rescue Mission Village of Hope provides transitional and emergency housing for up to 262 homeless men, women, and children, and emergency housing for survivors of human trafficking. Along with a program that offers in-depth spiritual and personal growth, they also have access to comprehensive services like counseling, job training, medical and dental care, and more to support and guide them into health and self-sufficiency.
The Rescue Mission offers a wide variety of group volunteer opportunities. The Committee encourages you to check them out and volunteer with your companies, families, or friends.
• Kitchen Meal Prep and Service - Help prepare food, serve residents, and clean-up after the meal.
• Warehouse Box Packing and Kit Assembly - Work as a group packing food boxes, placing labels on boxes, breaking down boxes, separating donated food, and packing hygiene kits in their warehouse.
• Chili Van Homeless Food Ministry - Be a smiling face and helping hand while you pass out chili to the homeless of Orange County.
• Parent & Child Enrichment Center - Volunteer to help children while their parents are in classes or Bible studies. Children are through age 12. Volunteers play games and read with the children.
• Job Search Help - Help prepare the residents for their job search through assisting in resume building, mock interviews, and dress prep.
