Summer Beach Clean-up with The Surfrider Foundation
August 19, 2023
The CAI-OC Community Outreach Committee joined forces with The Surfrider Foundation for a beach clean-up event in Huntington Beach on August 19th
.
Volunteers picked up trash and debris along the beach and river jetty. The event happened to be the day before the storm hit coastal Orange County so it was a perfect day to clear the beach of trash that would have otherwise been washed out to sea during the rain.
Beach cleanups are a fun and easy way to volunteer your time and help keep our beaches and ocean clean. It is a great opportunity to come together as a community and to teach our children about doing our part to preserve the environment. Visit The Surfrider Foundation’s website or social media pages to learn about beach clean-ups near you, or just take a beach walk and pick up trash as you see it. Every little bit makes a big difference!
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches so that all people are able to enjoy them. Through conservation, activism, research, and education, the Surfrider Foundation strives to preserve our environment.
