April CAI-OC Luncheon April 12, 2023
April’s CAI-OC Luncheon featured the Education Committee’s “Investing for the Future of Your Association” presentation. The event garnered 300 reservations and 55 exhibitors. Especially important to the California Legislative Action Committee was the additional upgraded sponsorship by 10 businesses supporting the Committee’s important work with members of the State Legislature regarding legislation supporting associations.
The presentation featured information of importance to associations, including the ability to grow their reserve funds in a dynamic but safe investment market. Genae Affrunti, a Sr. Vice President for Investments at the Capital Reserve Group of Comerica Securities, Inc., and Richard Williamson, an association board member and treasurer, presented information to attendees on the merits of researching and investing association reserve funds to obtain the highest return on investments through options with optimal safety for the members. Information on types of investments and methods of making those investments were discussed. The Education Committee plans to bring the course back into the HOA-U program in the fall and encourages association members, board members, and community managers to attend to learn more about ways to safely invest and enlarge reserve funds.
