A word about


shrinkage! When working with PMC you need to bear in mind that all metal clay loses some of its volume as it dries and fuses together.


This loss of volume is displayed as a shrinkage rate and is indicated by a percentage of the overall weight.


Shrinkage rates vary widely between clay types and you must consider this when choosing your clay to suit your specific requirements.


For example: PMC3 has a shrinkage rate of 10% therefore if the starting weight of the clay was 10g, once sintered, the same piece of clay would weigh only 9g.
