Emery boards

Emery boards are a convenient way of sanding PMC, utilising something you may already have at home. Emery boards (more commonly used on nails) are small scale abrasive flat sticks which generally have a coarse side and a smoother side, perfect for touching up dried PMC before firing.

Wire brush or scratch

brush Stainless steel or brass wire brushes can be used on fired clay to buff to a dull shine, or give a matt finish. They are great for getting into all those hard to reach areas and take only minutes to achieve a nice result.

Tip: Ensure you use a brass scratch brush under running water with a detergent to avoid any discolouration.
