Overview of a STEM Event

Heal the Bay displays a watershed and impacts on local waterways at the California Yacht Club Sailing through STEM Night

• Partner Organizations – Invite local sailing programs, universities, local non-profits and marine industry professionals to host a station at your event.

• Participants – If you are hosting an organization-only event, make sure to invite all program participants, parents and other people who use the rental or storage program at your facility. If your event is for your entire community (as part of a larger festival or at your facility), advertise and indicate the ages you’re hoping to access through your stations. This could include a family-friendly style event for children as well as an event for the general public who may benefit from learning more about the marine environment and STEM. The age range can vary depending on the event partners. Don’t forget to include any school partners from the off-season, their teachers and other non-profits or high school sailors that access your facility throughout the year.
